03 passat code p0301?

Question

I have a 2003 vw passat, while driving it began to idea rough and the check engine light began to blink I pulled over turned off the car let it sit. When I went to turn it on again it wouldn't start. I ran the code and it came back with p0301. Also now the electrical seems to have issues. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

if you have not replaced the spark plugs as a regular service, start there. if problem is still there you can swap an ignition coil and erase the code if the code moves to another cylinder then the ignition coil is bad
