P0420 2005 Nissan Maxima -

Question

Hey good morning i have a 2005 nissan maxima and got the same code once i checked out the service engine soon light on (P0420). it also said something about bank 1 does that mean i have to replace the front heated heated oxygen sensor as well or just only changing the catalytic converter itself would solve the problem? the oxygen sensor will have to be checked (the voltages will have to be checked)

its more likely the catalytic converter is bad by itself then the oxygen sensor, check to see if there is no physical and exhaust leaks first 

bank 1 is behind the engine (near the fire call)
