P0300 code on a 2001 Toyota Echo 4 Cyl., can the evap canister assembly being bad to cause this? I knew about that issue but was surprised at the new one (the misfires)

This code will not be caused by the canister. If you have multiple misfires, it can be the result of many things. The car could be due for a tune up, have intake manifold gasket leaks, bad coils or a timing issue.
