My car has a new engine in it and it still given misfire codes over and over

Do the check engine light suppose to keep coming on if its a new engine in it

The check engine light comes on because of an issue with one of the monitored systems. You can have a new engine and still get the check engine light because the gas cap is loose. You will have to have the codes read to determine the cause of the problem.
