Have '01 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel, w/auto trans.  For over 3 yrs., have had same problem...engine loses rpm (100 - 400) at times.  May go months w/o any problem.  Has been in different shops (4) during that time, with no solution to the problem.  Learned this week, that if you turn the key "on - off, on - off, on"  that you can view in the odmeter...any codes.  Tried this and received Code P PCU, and then two days later received Codes P PCU & P ECU.

What do these codes mean?

How can I correct these problems, or do I need to take (it) back to the shop for repairs?

Thank you.    Bill

You need to get an OBDII code with an scanner. You can go to AutoZone and they'll get the code for you for free.
