I have a 2009 Pontiac G6 and it is coming up with code for loose fuel cap, bad gas, or emissions leak...I have changed the fuel cap to a brand new one....I have ran the gas out and put new gas in it...the check engine light keeps coming on and I took it to have it put on machine and that is what they told me...so now I am thinking emissions leak...I can I tell? I don't smell any gas or odors...do I need to reset my check engine light since I replaced the gas cap and see if it comes back on or do you have any suggestions?

Thank You,
Christina

its possible the vent control solenoid is stuck, or another solenoid related with the evap system

you might be covered under GM's emission warranty call them to make sure (800) 762-2737 (don't say you ran out of fuel)
