U0114: Lost Communication with Four-Wheel Drive Clutch Control Module.

Question

On my 2009 Ford F150 5.4L, what is the cause and how to fix the problem? How long can one drive a car with this problem?

Almost all cause of communication code are low battery conditions. and poor connection and even a failed module.The usual fix is to determine if this is a intermittent condition, clear the code if it returns.   the harness of the 4X4 need to be check for proper connection. if it is good, a scantool that can communicate with the 4x4 module has to be used, if it cannot communicate you will need the 4x4 module, How long can you drive with this condition ? as long as this code condition exist you just will not have the full benefit of a 4x4 vehicle that it is intended to be.
