2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe with engine code P1217

Question

I have a 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe and it has 115k on it and it's starting to jerk when I push it past 40mph does anyone know why or have something to add? The code ran P1217 when it was coded

The P1217 means that the engine is overheating. Jerking or unable to accelerate could be caused by an overheated engine. You could start by replacing the thermostat.
