2004 Buick Century with engine code P0442

Question

while driving car mada a noise similar to what a bottle of soda sounds like if you shake it up & open it. next day check engine lifgt is on & i heard a noise like something was hitting something like it was flapping in the wind. no difference in the way the car runs.
