can I use my elm327 scanner on a rav4 2001

Hi,
I bought a obd2 scanner and I tried many times to scan the car ,never have I got atrouble code .
it shows that it is linked but not given any troublecode.
can you help me with that or it does not work on a rav4 2001

is your engine light on? if you have an bluetooth or wifi ELM327 try to use a different app
