On my 2002 Saturn SL1 4 Cyl I got the code P1404, what would cause code and what is the fix?

The engine code P1404 indicates a problem with the Exhaust Gas Recirculation  (EGR) valve. You could try clearing the valve, but if the problem persists, replacing the EGR valve will be necessary to fix the problem.
