2002 Nissan Altima Code P0420

Question

I have a 2002 Nissan Altima 4cyl and check engine light code is p0420 and the problem I am having is it's not wanting to crank and when it finally does it has a rattle sound. It runs fine after it's cranked. 02 censors have been replaced I have tried the treatment for fuel and it's still doing same thing. What's my next step to take?

You have a code for a bad catalytic converter, so I would lower the front exhaust pipe and see if the converter is broken inside. This could cause a rattle and also cause a hard starting situation.
