2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with engine code P0571

Question

My cruise control still works most of the time but has stopped at times. Lights all work. Engine light comes on even if I don't touch the brakes. Cruise control will still work.

A misadjusted or faulty Brake Pedal Position Sensor is the most probable cause of the problem. The sensor fails often, I recommend replacing the sensor.
