2005 Ford Escape L4 2.3L I need help figuring out what the main problem is?

we have a 2005 ford escape. The code number is p0300, which is a random misfire. The engine light stays on and will flicker on and off and start to lose power really bad and then 5 min later it will run fine. and will continue to do it over and over. Any suggestion on what might be the main problem?

P0300 Random misfire

When you get P0300 the ECM cannot identify what cylinder is mifiring.If the EGR being open or a vacuum leak open constanty it it would be constant, low fuel pressure or a failing fuel pump or fuel filter can do this where the engine start to loose power and latter run fine , Check the fuel pressure regulator if the fuel regulator diaphragm could leak fuel into its vacuum port into the intake ,
