P0171 Toyota -

My check engine light is on and I am getting P0171 on my 2000, Toyota, Camry, 6 cy. In plain english what does this code mean and how do i get this taken care of so I can pass smog

HI there,

This code is for a lean fuel mixture on bank 1. In plain english the computer thinks there is to much air mixed with the fuel on that bank of the engine. Common causes would be the front O2 sensor, an exhaust leak before the front O2 sensor or a vacuum leak at the intake manifold on that bank.
