Can an improperly fitted air filter cause a P0420 code? How about an overdose of fuel injector cleaner? The check engine light came on about 150 miles after changing the air filter and pouring the FI cleaner in the tank. Thanks.

Hi there,

The air filter won't cause it, but to much injector cleaner could. If there is to much then the converter won't generate enough O2 to make the rear O2 sensor happy and it will pop the converter code. I would clear the code and run some fuel through it.
