I have a P0302 in my Jetta 2006. I installed a new battery, spark plugs and spark plugs cables as part of normal maintenance.

Every morning, while engine warming I get the check engine on and the engine is tumbling, then when I start moving it remains for some minutes on, sometimes it stays on, sometimes it turns off.

After starting rolling for some minutes and then stop for the traffic light I put the drive in N and I feel the engine tumbling again, if I gear D the tumbling stops.
It makes me think it could be the fuel injector, because at 1000 rpms (with more fuel pressure) the tumbling goes away. Am I right?

thanks

You might have a bad ignition coil or fuel injector, you can try to swap #2 coil with another cylinder, reset the code and see if the code moves to the other cylinder.

you can try to use a good fuel system cleaner or do an injector flush just in case the injector is clogged
