P0186 Ford - ford ranger's engine light comes on and goes off at will

The engine light comes on and goes off at will on my 1994 Ford Ranger. it also stays on when idle. When the engine is turned off, the light is cleared.

Vehicle: 1994 Mazda B4000; same as a ford ranger
