2012 Nissan Rogue with code P1778. What is the cost to have the step motor fixed? Car will not change into high gear and the check engine light came on and I got the P1778 code.

P1778 is the step motor (the transmission needs to be replaced if the step motor is bad)

The transmission might be bad NISSAN has extended the warranty to 10 years/120,000 miles, whichever comes first.

if you are not under warranty I would try to replace the fluid before spending money on a new or used transmission (if you are going to have someone besides the dealer install the transmission flush the transmission lines before installing the new one)
