I have 2004 Nissan Frontier 4 dr XE truck has this code P1490, runs great but wanted to make sure no problems. The original valve was stuck open and not functioning, Nissan replaced the Cut Valve Bypass Valve $300 bucks but light won't go off. Technician says don't worry but light is still on and I wasted $300. He thinks ECM shorted out other unit and has code stuck in ECM, you can't re-flash these like most fords/GM's so any ideas on a fix. I hate I have my son a vehicle with the light stuck on. Truck runs great with good fuel economy for a Nissan with 132k miles.

If a Nissan dealer fix the issue and you were charged a diagnostic fee they are required to fix the issue at the price they told you it would cost, if this is the case were you were charged a diagnostic fee I would call Nissan consumer affairs

there would be a wiring issue before the ECM is bad, I would check the wiring
