My manual transmission 2004 Pathfinder is having some problems. It runs fine, but when pressing the accelerator pedal in neutral, it will go as far as 3,500 rpm and bounce back down to 2,500, and repeat.

While driving, once rpm reaches approximately 3,200 rpm, the vehicle will begin to buck and feel as if it's locked up and won't stop until the rpm drops once again.

It threw P1131, P0102, and P0113.

The mechanic looking at my Pathfinder cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle plates, cleared the codes, and sent me on my way. He said if the service engine light comes back on, it's likely the swirl control solenoid valve function code.

When I drove my truck away, it ran perfectly for about another 1,100km, but once again began bucking around 3,200rpm and the SES light came back on.

Do my truck's symptom's match up with the P1131 code

Vehicle: 2004 Nissan Pathfinder 3.5L

if cleaning the mass air flow sensor does not help it might need to be replaced. If you have using an K&N air filter that might be causing the problem

p1131 is the swirl control valve  which you might be able to clean since carbon buildup does collect on it

Possible causes
- Faulty Swirl control valve control solenoid valve
- Swirl control valve control solenoid valve circuit is open or shorted
- Swirl control valve circuit is open or shorted
- Faulty swirl control valve
- Faulty Swirl control valve actuator
