Hi my buick regal is throwing codes p1610 p1626 car starts and dies.

P1626 Loss of serial communication with VTD (vehicle theft device)

P1610 standard body module serial data circuit

When you have a remote start the anti theft is diabled or worked around the system. if you uninstalled the remote start the the VTD got reconnected, There is a variety of way to defeat the anti theft this depends on how it was defeated. Did they use a resitor to match the key pellet, , was a key pellet inline with the antitheft. what ever was removed when the remote start was unistalled dealing with the anti theft should be back in place.
