p2504 causes on subaru sg5 2005?

Hi

I need to know if the ECU might be the cause of this code on this car model. Its not the voltage regulator or the alternator.
any help is highly appreciated.

P2504 Charging system voltage too high

Poor connection cause this code condition to occur, or a short to ground in the generator harness connector. This is a result of high resistance in the connector
