engine oil enters in to the air filter housing

Question

i was doing the regular maintance on my 09 sportsman 500. I have changed the oil filter and the oil but than when i went into my air filter box, i found quite a amount of oil mixed with gas mixture with dirt and stuff. I draind it but i have no idea why this is happening

there are many other people with the same issue, seems to be a design flaw.
