engine light came on while on vacation..Code came up as PO772. Checked transmission fluid very dirty, took to a transmission place they reset the code and told me I need to take to a transmission place and have them take the pan off to see if there is any metal frigments. Can I do this myself and is it something a professional has to do?

P0772 Shift solenoid "E" stuck on

This code is for the transmission solenoid SSPCC when this code is detected some  of the gear will  in the  not present, this shift solenoid is normally off  so you would only have low gears. If the transmission fluid is dirty it a good idea to change the transmission fluid and the filter.You can service the transmission fluid and transmission filter yourself. You will need to have the transmission pan removedThere you remove the transmission filter and reinstall. You will need the recommended fluid for the transmission
