I recently purchased an 03 golf Fri 1.8t. The car wouldn't start at the turn if the key and wouldn't go past 5k rpms. I replaced the crank shaft position sensor and both problems were fixed but the check engine light still comes on with the error code p0322 and description of "intermittent rpm signal". I was wondering if someone could narrow things down to the root cause if this error code. Any advice world be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Best answer

P0322 Engine speed sensor

The engine speed sensor , without this signal the engine will not run ,this is the crank sensor or the RPM sensor , as longs as the sensor wheel has no damage and you still code P0322 the problem can be with the ECM
