P0322 Volkswagen Code - Ignition Engine Speed Input Circuit No Signal

what is a p0322 eng speed sensor on 2007 vw rabbit and where is it located. vehicle wont go over 3000 rpms and stalls at stops. it also has code p0720, this is sensor on trans bottom bell housing right. is one causing other? or both bad.??

Sounds like you need a crankshaft position sensor. It's located on the bottom of the engine between the engine/trans. There is a wire going into a hole with two 4 or 5mm allen screws holding it in.

I'm getting the P0322 engine code on my 01 VW GOLF 2.0, it's not a TDI or Diesel. The problem is intermittent, but when it is an issue it holds back at 4000 RPMS, engine takes a bit to start after shutting off from a quick trip, for ex. getting gas. It sputters at times and during idle it will intermittently sputter. I think I have narrowed it down to the crankshaft position sensor which seems to be an easy fix. Would you be able to determine if it is anything else based on the infomration provided? Thanks!

I am getting the P0322 code on my 03 Passat wagon, 1.8T, after installing new spark plugs (NGK Laser Platinum PFR6Q6458) and coils (BREMI / STI #06A-905-115D). I did not have the P0322 code before replacing these items. The car does start and run afterwards, just has the error code (along with error code P0456, small leak in evap system... my gas cap does look a little worn) Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks!

Since the problem started after you replaced the plugs, I suggest to start by inspecting the sensor. If possible disconnect and reconnect sensor.

I have a 2004 VW jetta 2.0 and I just replaced the wires that connect to the ignition coil and i just replaced the coil as well. it started up a little rough and I drove it around and it was fine. When I had to go to work the ext am, it had trouble starting and within 15 mins of driving it the EPC light came on and it started to act like it was going to turn off but it just shook pretty bad and then when i accelerate to take off it shakes and you can tell it has trouble picking up the speed. A couple of days ago i took it to get it read and it gave me codes P2177, P0544, P0322, and P0302 (whoch P0302 I fixed because of the misfire in cyl #2) I dont know what is wrong with my car!!??

This is a code for the engine speed sensor. You could either have a bad sensor or sensor wire problem. I suggest starting by inspecting the sensor connector, if the connector is OK you may have to replace the sensor.

HI I have a 2004 Beetle 2.0 non diesel and get the P0322 combined with the P0321 code, and it is intermittently very hard to start, it eventually does, and this occurs randomly. How can I check this, would it be the wiring, or sensor?

I have a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta 1.8t Wolfsburg edition and it's reading the code P0322. I have replaced countless parts and the car still won't start. I have replaced the Crankshaft position sensor, Spark plugs, starter, injectors and a lot more. What could be the reason as to why it won't start? Should i replace all of the coil packs?

I got a P0322 code on my 2003 A4 quattro 1.8T. I have an appointment on Monday to get the sensor replaced. Because of lack of time and their good rate, I chose a garage that doesn't have the greatest reviews... What would you suggest me to advise them to make sure they do their job right?! Is there anything specific to my car that they should know?

Nothing specific, just ask them to inspect wires and connections before replacing the sensor, in case the problem is a connector or wire and not the sensor.

I've got a 2001 VW Jetta. It stalls as soon as it reaches operating temp. It won't crank back up immediately but will after about 3 minutes, then after a short time it stalls again. It's showing code PO322.
Could this be the crankshaft position sensor? What other possibilities are there?

I have a 2005 vw Jetta 2.0. I had a light saying EPC light came on briefly. I cut car off and it didn't wanna start but it did and I moved my car. I went in to my appointment and went out and cranked it up and it acted normal. I got 10 mins up the road and it just cut off. After a jump I moved it from the stop light and it cut off again a couple mins later. Left it overnight and came back the next day and I drove it home 20 mins away with nothing wrong at all. I hooked it up to the scanner and got PO322 code. Please help. I just changed all sensors in my transmission. I've replaced almost everything on the top side of engine. Please help. This car is breaking me.

Due to the code and symptoms, the "Crankshaft Position Sensor" is more than likely the cause of the problem and needs to be replace. 99% of the times the Crankshaft Position Sensor is the cause of the problem.

It has the correct amount of ohms reading, so is it bad or possibly something else?? Part is just so expensive

Unfortunately, it's difficult to say, because the sensor may have the correct reading when the engine is not running, but when you start the engine the reading may change.

2002 Passat 1.8T lacking power, misfiring, stalling, turning over but failing to start straight away particularly when engine warm. P0322 and P0321 error codes. Changed crankshaft speed sensor, now runs perfectly.

i have a 07 vw passat wagon 3.6l awd with codes p0321 and p0322. How do i know if its the transmission speed sensor, or just vehicle speed sensor, or crankshaft position sensor? And where are they located?

The only way is to inspect the wires and sensor, but according to a national database of repairs for your model and year, the most common problem for the p0321 and p0322 codes is the Crankshaft Position Sensor
