P2070 - 2008 Chevrolet Uplander. What are the common causes of this code?

I have a check engine light on my 2008 Chevy Uplander. I had the code tested and it was a P2070 with a definition of "Intake Manifold Tuning (IMT) Valve stuck open.

What is the most likely cause of this issue?

What is the estimated cost to repair?

Am I causing further damage by not repairing it?

P2070 Intake manifold tuning stuck open.

Having a P2070 MTV stuck open this can be a valve of the intake stuck open or binding. which can result in the IMTV to fail also.  When you do not repair this, you will not have the full benefit of performance that the engine can produce in horsepower. It does not exhibit any drivability problem and you would not know it was not functional unless an ECM reported it. Depending on what the failure is it can be from a replacement of the intake plenum or just the IMTV which runs about 200.00 dollars
