2006 Toyota Highlander 6 cylinder with 86,000 miles not under warranty stopped running suddenly after a "heavy rain." Diagnostic showed an OBD code of POAA6 "Hybrid Battery Fault." Round Rock Texas Toyota Dealership states that the car requires new 1) battery assembly $5,200.00, relay assembly $650.00 and Aux battery $150.00. They also listed an additional $2,000 in possible work required much of which can been completed at another dealership in the last year. Should I proceed or can I begin replacing the AUX battery in the event the dealership is wrong. I have no previous relationship with this dealership and get a strange feeling from their strong arm sales tactics and lack of customer service. Additionally, the dealership claims there is not "Core Credit" on the existing battery assembly.

Thank you!

Its possible the battery is bad (see list of Trouble area in picture below) I would trade in the car to a dealer (different dealer). There is a lot of things to check unless you can find a independent toyota hybird tech there is no other option then dealing with the dealer.
