I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse that has trouble code P0705 and as soon as I get it reset, and start the motor and put it in gear, it comes back on. I have replaced the transmission speed sensor and still have the same code. The transmission won't shift, also. What would be the next possible problem and solution?

Vehicle: 2000, Mitsubishi, Eclipse, 3.0L V6 motor

HI there,

The next step would be to replace the range sensor. This is the sensor/switch under the shift cable on the transmission. If it's not functioning properly, then the computer has no idea what gear you should be in to begin with.
