U0101 GMC - check engine light on transmission not shifting up or down.

Question

Transmission will not shift up or down and 500 mile from home on sunday before memorial day anything I can do to fix till I get home?

U0101 Lost communication with TCM (Transmission control module)

This code condition will cause the transmission to default gearshifts. When a communication code condition to occur its a control module that communicate with other modules , when a module stop communicating other module that are expecting a communication set a DTC code condition , what you can do is to make sure power for TCM is proper.by first checking the fuse. In the engine fuse box Check fuse TRAN IGN 1. and TCM-BAT. The TCM is located on the radiator shroud.coolant leak or a recent radiator change could of interrupted the communication of the TCM
