P0505 Idle air control system malfunction

Check for vacuum leaks.What the IAC does is maintain RPM . Clear the code condition and test the IAC by disconning the IAC if there is no change in RPM ldo a simple test for vacuum leak Here the throttle opening was blocked as the engine was at idle. Having a block throttle opening should have stalled the engine. But the rpm was maintained, The vacuum leak was found as being  a tube of the EGR gasket. P0505 is more of a electrical condition with the IAC
