overdrive off light blinking

The overdrive off light is blinking, the truck appears to be operating in limp mode i.e. travels in reverse the way it should, in drive rpms run high with no shifting into higher gears for speed.

When the O.D light blinks the TCM has deteced a problem and will not allow a upshift into higher gear. use a scan tool and gather the code for this condition
