Would this cause the valves to tick on my 1992 Jeep Liberty V6? The engine light is ON with the engine code P1391 came up with valves ticking and running rough

P1391 is related to the camshaft position if your timing has jumped a tooth its possible that is what is causing the valves to tick 

Possible causes

- Timing belt or chain stretched or jumped

- Faulty Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor 

- Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor harness is open or shorted

- Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor circuit poor electrical connection.
