1999 Ford F150 4.6 v8 po403 code

Question

I put in the sensor, but the same code keeps cominig up. The code is PO403, which is exhaust gas recirculation. When i erase the messge i open the switch three times. And the code comes up again.

what sensor are you talking about? 

the EGR and its tubing is most likely full of carbon built up you will either have to clean it or replace it.
