What are the causes and solutions for the codes p0706, p0705 for my honda CRV?

Both codes are for the transmission range sensor. This is the switch under the shift cable on the transmission. Usually over time the switch wears out and replacing it will solve the issue. It could be a wiring issue as well, so it's a good idea to look at the harness where it runs along the transmission to make sure it hasn't rubbed through the insulation and shorted to ground.
