Question

well my car will start and idle hard then shut back off its giving a too lean code and a po174 code im trying to figure out the reason for this it ran fine and then suddenly it wont stay running now please help me out!

Hi there,

When you have lean codes it is usually related to the mass air flow sensor, possible low fuel pressure and an intake manifold leak. What I see most often is a bad mass air flow sensor and the computer won't generate the proper fuel mix, this causes the stalling. The maf can fail without storing a code for it. As long as the computer sees info from the maf sensor, it doesn't care if it's right or wrong, as long as there is info.
