Hi there,

The purge system is the system the car uses to pull the fuel vapors from the charcoal canister to the engine for burning. This code however is for a small leak in the evap system. This can usually be something as simple as a loose fuel cap. Normally the first step is to reseat the fuel cap and if the light comes back on then have a smoke test done to locate the leak.
