When it comes to a oxygen sensor , or a airflow sensor , Sensor 1 is referred to as the engine management sensor or what is commonly referred to as the upstream sensor. You do not want a catalytic sensor which are your sensor 2 to be switching at all. This would mean the catalytic is insufficient. The sensor that is not functioning properly is located where cylinder is at before the catalytic convertor.
