My EPC light came on while driving

Question

while accelerating, my EPC light came on and my car slowed down to a complete stop. the dealer said that my timing belt is torn and my cylinder head needs to be replaced. I think they may not be telling the truth to try to get money out of me. Can someone help me?

This engine has no valve clearance once the timing belt breaks the camshaft valve will hit the pistons, either a cylinder head will be needed or valve job done to the cylinder head. Make them show you the condition.
