is this code a sure fix for this issue or can there be a related, deeper issue? Trying to fix without guessing.

By "sure fix" you either have a bad coil, the harness has a short or the ECM is bad.

the first thing to do its swap the coil with another cyclinder and see if the code moves if it does, replace the coil. 

 

Possible causes

- Faulty Ignition Coil 2

- Ignition Coil 2 harness is open or shorted

- Ignition Coil 2 circuit poor electrical connection

- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
