P1184 - BMW What is the definition for this make?

P1184 Heated oxygen sensor (H20S) sensor 1 bank 1 , No activity

Being sensor 1 is the upstream sensor which is the engine management sensor, When a  02 sensor degrades it becomes slow or becomes lean bias. This code condition can represenst a worn 02 sensor. It can also be a sensor that is not properly connected. The importance of having this sensor working properly is it is a feedback information to the DME to maintain the correct air to fuel ratio.You will not have a noticeable drivabilty condition , the engine management will be on a lean shift.
