I bought this car recently. When getting an inspection sticker the computer got a "not ready" reading.I was told to drive it for a couple days & return to retry. Before returning I wanted to make sure there were no codes. The first time I checked the code P1800 came up ,my car seem to be burning too much gas & I notice smoke coming from the exhaust pipe even after driving it for along time. The car picks up speed fast. One time the car stalled when entering onto the highway. After a few days ,when returning to my car after coming out from the store, It occasionally would not start.Which seem to give a code P0345. A month later the oil light came on & when I checked the codes P0011 & P1800 came up. I added 3 quarts of oil & the oil light stayed off.I still get code P1800 & occasionally P0345 would come up. What can I do to make sure it will pass inspection?
if the car was low 3 quarts of oil that is not a very good sign, the car is burning oil and you should check the oil level once a week.
P0011 is related to the Intake valve timing control solenoid valve which uses oil flow to control timing, dirty oil can cause the valve to stuck open or close. Before replacing the valve, change the engine oil and filter and reset the engine code.
P0345 is probably a weak battery, the alternator is not charging good, or the camshaft position sensor is bad (if the car turned off while driving)
p1800 you may have broken or cracking intake hoses or the VIAS control solenoid valve is bad
