Wouldn't a car run poorly with a bad throttle senor? I got a 2008 GMC Envoy Denali 5.3L

check engine light on, had code pulled it says throttle position sensor. My car runs perfectly I find it hard to believe code. I have already replaced the gas cap. light seems to be related to fill-ups

Not always, with the electronic throttle body, the ECM has to give more voltage to open the throttle plate, and that it what can set the code. When the throttle plates get dirty over time more voltage has to be sent to open the same amount as before.

If it's a throttle position sensor code the service bulletin says clean the throttle body and reset the idle.
