About a month ago, our system needed a radiator replacement; which went of well with our local mechanic. Once we received the truck back, however, we noted that it was a rather 'rough' idle. He advised it is because our truck has a 'high electrical idle'; however, I do not buy that, as previously the truck had no issue, and idle was much lower.

Now, driving it today, there is a significant lack of power (I have to floor the engine just to get to 25 mph, and when it does kick in (between 25 and 35), it will eventually power back up, and work normally until it drops below 30 again.

Looking at the code, it would appear it's an ignition problem. Is it safe to drive the truck with a P0358? Note, there is no other code, just that one.

P0358 Ignition coil # 8 primary circuit

When the CK ENG LT comes on this represent a emmission problem this is not good for the vehicle being a ignition coil failure which can damage the PCM ignition driver For now this would be a simple repair such as one coil needing replacement, Letting it go to long may result in needing a coil and a PCM and you can causeother coil to fail.
