What is the code for 286 MI to empty-my car will not start?

My car has not been started for a wk. due to snow. I tried to start it with a jump off. It started then went dead. I tried to restart. It would not. Even with a jump off. Replace battery with a new one and it will not start. It turns over but will not start. Put more fuel in and fuel cleaner. It did not help. The above code came up. I do not know what it means.

Mile to empty is not a code but a information of fuel in the tank and the distance it is capable of going.Turn the key and cycle the key you should be able to hear the fuel pump come on, Pump crank you should be able to hear the fuel pump turn on. If the engine still does not start  a fuel pump replacement may be the solution
