I have a 2005 Nissan Maxima and the service engine light has come on. The code is U1000 and the only thing not working in my car is the fuel gauge. If I were to replace the fuel pressure regulator would that turn off my service engine light? I have read that if a Maxima was really low on fuel that would occur. My assumption is that the computer is thinking it is out or low on fuel so that would be the cause for the service engine light. Would this be a correct assumption?

Nissan cars that has the U1000 the first thing to do is lossen all the ground connecters clean them with sand paper on the connector and body and retighen the bolts back

There will be a few by the engine bay and will look like this lossen all the ground connecters clean them with sand paper on the connector and body and retighen the bolts back

here is the service bulletin from nissan

There will also be some under the steering wheel or glove box, I dont have picture of the model or I would post the locations.

You can also add a grounding kit to help the factory grounds since the factory grounds are thin and can lose connecting since you can rust and or have corrosion.
