My truck has only 68000 miles on it. My first issue was clogged fuel injectors and bad O2 sensors. I flushed the fuel delivery system with Sea Foam in the fuel and through the vacuum line and the throttle body and cleaned the IAC valve with carb cleaner. It cleared the injectors and the truck started running fine again. I then changed all four O2 sensors and cleared the codes. After less than 100 miles, the "Check Engine Light" came back on. When analyzed, I got the code P0430. I then tried CataClean in the fuel as directed and cleared the codes after that tank of gas was spent. I then traveled 560 miles before the CEL came back on. Again, P0430. However the truck is running superbly. Instead of clearing the ECM with an analyzer, I disconnected the battery and let it sit overnight. The next day, I reconnected the battery and drove 125 miles before the CEL came back on. I repeated the battery process and only got 95 miles before the CEL came back on. What type of element is inside the catalytic converter for a 2006 Dodge Dakota 4.7l? Is it beads, honeycomb, fibers, or what? I am trying to determine the integrity of the "innards" so I can decide whether to change the cat or try another flush.

Its like a honeycomb on 90% of the cars. they usually last a little over 100k miles on average.

you can try to remove it and try to clean it with soup and water if its not damaged or use

catalytic converter cleaner
