Code P0008 Suzuki XL7 2008 is it a sensor, where is it?

2008 suzuki xl7
car runs fine I just drove from Wisconsin to Texas no problems
I have check engine light on but it will not pass emission test and need help
got code P0008 engine position system performance bank 1
I wonder if it is a sensor problem if so where is it

Hi there,

When you have this code it means the cams are out of alignment with the crank sprocket. This code will set if it's seen for more then 4 seconds by the computer. Odds are the timing is off, it's not a specific sensor causing the problem.
