These codes showed up recently. Taken individually, I can read what the codes mean, but when I look at them together, is there a big picture I should see or a lightbulb that should go on? Somewhere out there, someone can look at these codes and know just what to do. So, what's the fix?
Did the car overheat? I would start by replacing the thermostat and making sure the water pump is not leaking.
P01289- Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor Signal Greater Than Self-Test Range P0118- Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit High
P0171- means bank 1 has too much air, check for intake leaks.
P0174- means bank 2 has too much air, check for intake leaks.
possible causes:
- Intake air leaks - Faulty front heated oxygen sensor - Ignition misfiring - Faulty fuel injectors - Exhaust gas leaks - Incorrect fuel pressure - Lack of fuel - Faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor - Incorrect Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose connection
